Description of the Training:
Gain invaluable skills and knowledge in the Food and Beverage department of a world-leading luxury hotel/resort through a J-1 hospitality internship or traineeship program at Alila Ventana Big Sur. During your program, you will receive training and mentorship from industry leaders in the F&B field as you rotate through different outlets on the property. This rotational program is designed to give you exposure to the international hospitality industry and give you the experience to excel in your career when you return to your home country.

Unlike most J-1 Program providers, a regional ITN representative will guide you through a streamlined registration process, thanks to ITN and ODYSSEY’s all-inclusive approach. ITN and ODYSSEY will be on hand to provide you with the very best personalized service from the time that you arrive in the United States until your departure from the United States upon completion of your program.

Big Sur, California, is a rugged stretch of coastline along the Pacific Ocean, known for its dramatic cliffs, dense forests, and sweeping views. Located between Monterey and San Simeon, it offers one of the most stunning scenic drives in the world, the Pacific Coast Highway. Visitors are drawn to its natural beauty, with landmarks like McWay Falls, Bixby Creek Bridge, and Pfeiffer Beach. Big Sur is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, offering hiking, camping, and wildlife watching, while its remote location and serene environment also attract artists, writers, and those seeking solitude in nature's grandeur.


Requirements

  • Conversational English required. 

  • Must be a current student of a Hospitality or Tourism post-secondary academic institution. 

  • Or recent graduate (less than 12 months ago) of a Hospitality or Tourism post-secondary academic institution. 

  • Or a graduate of a Hospitality or Tourism post-secondary academic institution (more than 12 months ago) with 12 months of verifiable related work experience.

  • Or must have 5 years of verifiable related work experience.

  • Stipend:  $1,300/monthly minimum

  • Accommodation: Accommodation is provided by the host company at an additional cost.
